Foley Rancho Syrah 2006
|
Foley’s estate vineyard Rancho Santa Rosa is planted to 8 acres of Syrah. Delineated by varying soils the acreage was broken into two unique blocks, each incorporating different clonal material (clone 01 and Noir). Sharing
close proximity with the cooling Pacific Ocean, the Syrah blocks (Block 1A and 1B) were appropriately planted at the base of Rancho Santa Rosa’s western corridor on a southeastern-facing and sheltered hillside. The sitespecific conditions, coupled with Santa Barbara’s arid climate allows the
Syrah to reach a developed maturity even in such a cool growing region as the Santa Rita Hills AVA.
