Raymond Napa Valley Selection Reserve Merlot 2008
The grapes were fermented on the skins for ten days at 75-80° with pumpovers performed twice daily. After fermentation, the wine was gently pressed, racked and moved to both new and seasoned, medium toast, tight grained barrels for 16 months of aging using 60% French oak to impart subtle oak influences and the balance in American oak for added rich vanilla notes.
