It is deep, inky purple color, and begins with complex aromas of sandle wood and cherry, with background notes of lilac and lavender. The aromas seem to jump out of the glass, but with depth and weight. Much like the nose on this wine, the flavors unravel in layers, with cassis and deep, integrated oak followed by savory herbs and an elusive dark, earthy, mineral character. Contrasting with its full, round body and velvety tannins, this vintage finishes with mouthwatering acidity.
