If you have a smartphone with a camera and e-mail you can really help us out.

Helping us is really simple; next time you drink your favorite wine take a photo of the label and send it to label@vivino.com. As soon as we get the label we will reply your e-mail with rating, price, suggested food for the wine, region and whatever we have about the wine.

Go ahead, find a bottle and try it now :)

Rate Wine via Twitter - March, 29, 2010
It is now possible to rate wine directly from Twitter. Try this really simple feature by following these instructions:

1. Follow vivinobot on Twitter
2. Post “@vivinobot wine name with vintage rating from 50 to 100”. Ex: “Mollydooker The Boxer 2007 92”
3. Wait 1 minute and check direct messages.

New Grape pages - February, 22, 2010
We’ve just finished work on the new grape pages. The grapes pages have a short description of the grape with the best deals available in your country. As a unique feature all pages have a world grape map. The map shows where in the world the grape is grown.

More shops and more wine - August, 27, 2009
Matching the wine in the shops with the wine in the Vivino database is a very long process. The same wines have different names in the Vivino database, but also different names in different shops.

We're constantly improving this and speeding up this process. Over the past 2 weeks the process of matching the wines has improved radically and the users will notice much more wine being available on Vivino.

This work will continue and at this speed we will have 100,000 wines on Vivino within the next couple of months. Thanks, -Heini

Vivino - now in Beta - May, 11, 2009
We've come so far now that we're officially in Beta. Still a long way to go, but the basic features work well, so we're ready for a beta.

10,000 different wines - May, 12, 2009
We've now reached 10,000 different wines on Vivino. The test on the Faroe Islands where around 100 people were invited to join went very well. We've had some good feedback and a lot of people rating wine, so please keep that up :)

Next is a similar test in Denmark. Probably with around 200 people. We're currently working on adding the shops in Denmark, but this work will finish in a few days and the test in Denmark can start.

Now 1500 Labels/Bottles - December, 1, 2008
The number of labels/bottles is now more than 1500. This is just below 50% as there are 3037 different wines now.

1000 Labels/Bottles - November, 15, 2008
The script for adding wine labels and bottles is so efficient that we now have 1000 labels on Vivino. This is about 42% of all the wine on Vivino. The labels make Vivino much more usable and it is therefore crucial that we get as many labels as possible. The ambition is still to get to 60% of all wine.

The other numbers are also growing fast, here is the latest snapshot:

New label tool - October, 31, 2008
We've just developed a very strong label exatractor. This amazing tool has made it possible for us to add hundreds of labels within the last few days. At this point more than 40% of all the wine added has a label image. Due to the accuracy and efficiency of this tool we're expecting to get to more than 60% with a label. This is pretty impressive :)

Now 1000 different wines - October, 24, 2008
Yesterday we reached more than 1000 different wines on Vivino. This is not a lot, but a really good start. From the 1st of November we will speed up the number of wines added per day. So far we have the following data in the database: 6658 Wineries

Welcome to Vivino - October, 10, 2008
For the first time ever a few people have been given access to Vivino. This is not a beta, but rather a sneak peak behind the scenes at the work being done to develop Vivino.

Vivino facts added - October, 14, 2008
Vivino facts tells you how much data is in Vivino right now. The facts that can be followed are the number of wineries, wines, regions, countries, grapes, rating and members.

Data added so far - October, 15, 2008
So far so good, every day new, winery and wine are being added to Vivino. As of today the 15th of October the following has been added: 6444 Wineries 897 Wines 635 Different regions 23 Countries 42 Different grapes 0 Ratings 24 Members New data is being added every day, but due to the Deepavali Festival in India the data entry will be slow from now and until the end of October.
