Vines have been cultivated in Hungary since at least Roman times, and possibly since the Ancient Greeks.
Cabernet Franc has found a second home in Hungary, where it is often made as a single varietal wine, instead of playing second fiddle to Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot as it does in Bordeaux.
