Weinbeschreibung | In the early twentieth century, it was customary for the great châteaux in the Médoc to produce a few barrels of white wine, reserved for the personal consumption of their owners. This was the case at Château Palmer until the 30s. A pleasant surprise and relic of this era, two bottles of Château Palmer white wine from the 1925 vintage, the trace of which had been lost, were found at the end of the 90s at the home of a French collector. In the early 2000s, to perpetuate this tradition, a few stock of these long-forgotten white wine vines were replanted: Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris and Loset. The Vin Blanc de Palmer has been produced in limited quantity since 2007, for the owners and guests of the estate. In 2012, Château Palmer decided to sell a portion of the production of the 2010 vintage to benefit the Bergonié Institute, A regional center of Lutte Contre le Cancer for Bordeaux and the Southwest. Maison Sichel acquired this lot of 1,200 numbered bottles and is consequently its exclusive distributor. |
