Descrição do vinho | Our 2013 and 2014 editions of this wine are quite different. Botrytis bloomed quite early in 2013 and lends a very pretty floral and honey quality to the wine. The grapes remained squeaky clean through harvest in 2014, and this vintage relies more on muscular concentration and rockiness as its virtues. Quite high in acidity, we allowed the 2014 to go through malolactic, unlike 2013. It is a more viscous, room temperature molten rock sort of wine that might take a bit longer to come out of its shell. It is very stimulating exercise to wrangle one’s ego [not easy for winemakers] and begin the process of understanding a particular vineyard and what it wants to do, rather than imposing a predetermined formula upon it. |
