Vinbeskrivning | Deep in color, the ripe, red berry aromatics on the nose are laced with subtle vanilla and dried floral notes. Medium bodied and classically styled, this Merlot showcases bright acidity from our Yountville estate vineyard. The tannins are firm and, along with the sweet oak, are wonderfully integrated into the wine, the texture is lush and the aromas from the nose carry through on the palate. Our estate is known fornproducing world class Merlot on our clay soil and brings out true varietal typicity and rich, complex fruit flavors. The rich depth of the wine comes from the low crop yields of the vines – the result of aggressive green thinning in summer to ensure evenly mature fruit - yielding a rich, full wine with a lovely structure and a long, persistent finish |
