When you're intrigued by a bottle, but aren’t sure if you’ll love it
Think of Vivino's Match for You like a wine matchmaker, as it connects you with new and fresh bottles — but only the ones that match your unique tastes. It’s a great way to shake things up and experiment, with confidence that you’ll always get a wine you’ll enjoy.
All you need to do is review at least five wines using the Vivino app, and the Match for You algorithm will get to work, using that data to determine how likely you are to enjoy any of the 13+ million wines on Vivino today. Every wine page will show your Match For You score, with ratings on a 100-point scale. If you see a rating from 70-100 percent, that’s a wine that’s sure to please. A 40-70 percent score is an “average match,” which means it’s a riskier experiment, but one that may be worth trying. A score below 40 percent indicates that based on the data from your ratings, it’s unlikely that you’ll enjoy that wine, so you should skip that one unless you’re really feeling like living on the edge. When you want a personalised recommendation for a new and exciting wine
Vivino’s Taste Profile is like a digital wine diary, but one that makes discovering and buying the perfect bottle easier than ever. To access Taste Profile, go to the Profile section on the Vivino app, then tap your photo. Based on the wines you’ve reviewed and rated, you’ll see your tastes broken down by What You’ve Tried, What You Like, and What You Dislike, in the categories of wine style, region, or grape. You can even update your Taste Profile directly by clicking the “like” or “dislike” button at the top of each section.
Taste Profile's data-driven approach starts you on the road to experience a great portfolio of wines that reflects your unique tastes. Just open the Vivino app, then click the camera icon at the bottom of the screen and scan the label. Vivino’s label scanner will instantly identify the wine, showing you its Vivino ratings, Match for You score, reviews and average pricing. It’s a great way to remove the guesswork when buying wine in a store, and will ensure that you’re paying a fair price and are buying a high-quality bottle. After a long year of home cooking and takeout, people are starting to return to restaurants, sitting down for a leisurely meal and a bottle with family and friends. Diners may feel a little rusty when it comes to wine lists, wavering on what to order. That’s where Vivino's Wine List Scanner comes in.
To make sure you choose the perfect wine for the table, all you need to do is open the Vivino app, then tap the camera at the bottom of the screen and select the icon that looks like a menu to switch to the list scanner. Position the full wine list within the frame to scan, and you’ll see a Vivino rating for every wine on the list. Tap any of the wine names, and you’ll see its full page, with information on its taste characteristics, and ideal food pairings.

When you need the perfect bottle for a special meal
You've spent days researching recipes, sourcing ingredients, and preparing a meal. Shouldn't your wine selection take as much care? Vivino’s food and wine pairing feature makes it easier than ever to discover and buy the perfect wines to accompany any and every dish.
To access the pairing function, tap the search icon at the bottom of the screen. Beneath the “Browse Wines” heading, tap the word “Pairing,” and you’ll see panels depicting every food you can imagine, from appetisers to mains to desserts. Tap any of those panels to find the right bottle, based on your tastes, to accompany any of those foods. If you don’t see the food you’re looking for, tap “see all pairings” to refine your results by scores of treats, all leading you to the ideal wine to buy for any meal.
