The Seven Wine Wonders of the World

Very interesting wine! Strongly recommended for anyone that wants to experiment with Portuguese wines.

Nose: lavander, prune, black currant, a certain gamey character, clay, cigar box

Palate: very well balanced, beautiful fruit and smooth transition to the high acidity and soft tannins with a med long finish of liquorish and pepper

Overall a winner and a big surprise
Picked as an Aussie syrah I was very wrong. This Portuguese red was lovely, dark red in the glass it had a slightly spicy nose, tanins were very soft, it was an approachable wine. Note to self, book a weeks holiday in Portugal and explore their wine styles.
Cassis, blackberries, leather, chocolate, floral notes... Nice complexity. Not unlike an lightly aged Claret.

Mature tannins and great acidity. Very much like it
