The Seven Wine Wonders of the World

Wonderful lush garnet in color. Delicious and evocative aromas of kir royal, mint, and cocoa butter rise from the glass. The aromas reappear on the palate joined with red cherries and espresso. Mid palate displays balanced acidity, slight pepperiness, and soft tannins--perhaps too soft. Finish is too quick and dominated by cherry laced acidity. Could use more effective layering. Still an excellent cab for $20. Decanted and served a tad too warm (~68F).
Good for when you just got home and all you have us pasta and some newman's own tomato sauce that your roommate left in the fridge but hasn't touched in a month.
Notes of tomato and light plum on the nose. Intensely fruit forward with silky plum and hints of blackberry. American oak appears by mid-palate and leaves a an inoffensive, wet vanilla finish.
